Movie Review - Rush
I've just returned home from a 9pm screening, of the movie Rush.
From: IMDB
Set against the sexy, glamorous golden age of Formula 1 racing in the 1970s, the film is based on the true story of a great sporting rivalry between handsome English playboy James Hunt (Hemsworth), and his methodical, brilliant opponent, Austrian driver Niki Lauda (Bruhl). The story follows their distinctly different personal styles on and off the track, their loves and the astonishing 1976 season in which both drivers were willing to risk everything to become world champion in a sport with no margin for error: if you make a mistake, you die.
Here's the trailer.
OK, so it's about formula one motor racing (I don't mind a bit of F1 every now & again) A few smashes or crashes...). Maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but it's actually a true story.
You get to see how two different guy, go about getting the same thing (The F1 Drivers Championship). You have Niki Lauda, who is all serious & knows a car inside out. Then you have James Hunt. A party boy. Loves girls, sex, drugs & rock n roll.
There is a fair bit of gory medical stuff (from a very bad accident), lots of sex, foul language & drug use. If you can get past that & you don't mind a little rev head action, then I would recommend you go & see Rush.
